#TBT: We are flashing back today to 1913 and a postcard of the YMCA. The YMCA of Raleigh constructed a five story building at the corner of Edenton and Wilmington Street, near the state capitol. The structure housed a swimming pool in the basement, a 42 room hostel, reading rooms, and an assembly hall. The YMCA moved to a new facility on Hillsborough Street in 1959, and the building was demolished in the 1970s. The site now is home to the North Carolina Museum of History. Happy Thursday!
