Realtor.com says Raleigh is Tops for Singles and Home Buyers

Raleigh is for SinglesOn the hunt for love and a home? Realtor.com says Raleigh is for you.

The official website for the National Association of Realtors®, Realtor.com recently released a report highlighting the top 10 U.S. cities with favorable singles scenes and ideal housing markets. Our popular City of Oaks landed in third place among the likes of Minneapolis, Atlanta and Nashville.

Realtor.com’s research team sought cities with “low unemployment, affordable housing, and—of course—awesomely fun things to do if you should have a date.” Raleigh rated well with an unemployment rate of only 4.9 percent, a median list price of $274,000 and 26 percent of singles. Area amenities and our foodie-enticing restaurants only helped to solidify our stake in the “best of” compilation.

“What really distinguishes this set are the more favorable conditions singles face when it comes to homeownership,” [Javier Vivas, a Realtor.com research analyst] adds. “Some of those right ingredients include solid job creation, rational price appreciation, and varied amounts of affordable inventory.”

The website’s full list of the hottest cities for singles on the hunt for real estate and a partner includes:

  1. Minneapolis, Minn.
  2. Indianapolis, Ind.
