Raleigh has made it to Forbes’ list of the World’s Most Inventive Cities! Raleigh joins the ranks of such cities as Munich, Seattle, San Francisco, and Stockholm as a hotbed of innovation. The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development ranks cities based on what is called “patent density”. The OECD tracks the patent applications of over 250 cities world-wide and created the “Most Inventive” list by ranking them based on patents per 10,000 residents. The top city on the list, Eindhoven, Netherlands, held 22.5 patent applications per 10,000 residents, Raleigh came in at #15 with 3.74 patent applications per 10,000.
