Triangle Home Sales Up 33%

Triangle home sales were up 33% in January, a great momentum boost for the area’s real estate market heading into the Spring selling season. The market is continuing to trend towards recovery; rising sales numbers and home prices and a shrinking available inventory of homes are carrying over into the first quarter of 2013. A total of 1,232 homes were sold in January in Durham, Johnston, Orange, and Wake counties, the most homes sold in January since 2008. The inventory of homes available for sale is down 20% from last year and 38% from two years ago. For the full report visit the News and Observer.
