Garner Celebrates MLK Day

Garner will be holding it’s third annual celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 20th at the Garner Performing Arts Center. This year’s celebration is themed “One Community, One Nation, One Dream” and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Dudley E. Flood, a nationally known educator and civil rights activist. The program will also feature a variety of speakers to include activists, educators, clergy members, and political leaders as well as musical performances by the East Garner Middle School Choir and The Hall Sisters. The celebration will begin at 4PM and attendees are asked to bring non-perishable/canned goods items to be donated to the Garner Area Ministries.
