National S’mores Day (yum!) is Thursday, and one of our Triangle towns is taking its celebration of the sweet treat to another level. Not only will the town host a food truck rally and outdoor movie night this Friday, but it will also change its name from Morrisville to S’Morrisville.
Though it will only “stick” for one day, the name change is official and certainly the cookie’s crumble to town officials. Morrisville (soon-to-be S’Morrisville) Mayor Mark Stohlman said, “We’re building community spirit one sweet tooth at a time. Changing the name of the town for one day is fun; I encourage everyone to refer to the town as S’Morrisville this Friday!”
The town’s campfire-inspired evening event is free to the public and will include cookout themed food trucks, a showing of the Scooby Doo Camp Scare movie, fire safety information from the local fire department, and s’mores for all, of course.
Residents and visitors of all ages are welcomed to attend with hungry tummies and low-slung chairs and blankets in tow.
