#TBT We are throwing back to 1930 today, and to the land that would become Cameron Village. Once a part of the estate of Duncan Cameron, a lawyer, judge and president of the State Bank of North Carolina, this 160 acre section of undeveloped property about two miles west of downtown Raleigh was sold to J.W. Willie York in the 1940’s. He developed the fields and woods into stores, apartments, and single family homes. The shopping center opened in 1949. And the field in this picture? It is now the parking lot of the Harris Teeter in Cameron Village. Happy Thursday!
