It was a great day of gobbling at our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston headquarters! Our real estate team was joined by Butterball, LLC and the U.S. Veterans Corps to hand out 2,500 turkeys to more than 60 local nonprofits, active military, and veterans organizations through our first Turkeys for the Triangle distribution event.
Throughout the years, this special program has donated over 24,000 turkeys to anchor holiday meals for more than 100,000 people.
“Many of us plan our holiday celebrations around the dinner table hosting grand feasts for our family and friends to enjoy. Unfortunately, not all of our Triangle neighbors can afford to do the same,” said Don Walston, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Founder and Chairman. “Our Turkeys for the Triangle program enables us to nourish those in need and spread hope and cheer at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The holidays should be a time for happiness, not hunger.”
Of the 2,500 frozen turkeys distributed, 1,500 of the birds were donated by Butterball as part of its annual Thanksgiving outreach efforts. Butterball President and CEO Kerry Doughty said, “For a third year in a row, Butterball has proudly helped supply the turkeys for the Thanksgiving Turkey Toss. Headquartered in Garner and with over 4,000 employees in North Carolina, we value partnerships with local organizations like Turkeys for the Triangle to serve the community we call home. “
Turkeys for the Triangle fundraiser is still underway
Our agents and staff will continue to sell raffle tickets for the Turkeys for the Triangle fundraiser through Wednesday, Dec. 14 to gather funds to support a second holiday turkey donation for Christmas.
