Cary recently received not just one, but two major nods from national news and real estate sources naming the Triangle town among the top places to live in the nation. Money Magazine touted the Raleigh suburb as one of the Best Places to Live in 2016 and Realtor.com added it to its list of the Top 50 Hottest ZIP Codes. These designations add to the numerous accolades Cary has received throughout the years recognizing the town’s livability, safety, and proximity to the Research Triangle Park.
If you haven’t added Cary to your list of places to consider for your next home, you should.
Money Magazine, Best Places to Live 2016
The Town of Cary was the only North Carolina location to make Money Magazine’s elite list of the Best Places to Live this year. Honed down from 823 U.S. cities and towns, Cary ranked 37th on the list based on results from 60 variables reviewed including income growth, housing affordability, projected job growth, healthcare options, education, and more.
Money Magazine spotlighted Cary’s appeal reporting:
“Situated just outside of Raleigh, Cary is a bedroom community with easy access to the shops, sports, and entertainment of a bigger city. And while living outside and away from the city might seem like a hassle, this distance comes with perks. A solid schooling system, a safer community, and increased opportunities for job growth mean living in the smaller town pays off. As part of the Research Triangle of NC State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, there are also major employers based in the smaller town, like SAS, which employs over 5,000, or sectors of companies like Fidelity or Verizon.”
Realtor.com, Top 50 Hottest ZIP Codes
Of course, one of the nation’s best places to live should also have one of the hottest ZIP codes, right? It sure does. According to Realtor.com, Cary’s 27511 ZIP code is in high demand scoring 28th on the real estate resource’s list of the 50 top U.S. ZIP codes for 2016.
Realtor.com shared:
“Homes for sale in this year’s hottest ZIP codes are selling almost as quickly as they hit the market,” said Jonathan Smoke, chief economist for realtor.com®. “While millennials are usually a significant presence in most markets, their sheer size and buying power have made them a force to be reckoned with in these hot ZIP codes and given them the power to shift supply and demand dynamics.”
