#TBT – We are throwing back to the late nineteenth century today, and a postcard of the Federal Building, located at 300 Fayetteville Street in Raleigh. It was the first Federal project in the South after the Civil War ended. The building, made in the Second Empire design, was completed in 1878. In 1971, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was renamed the Century Station Post Office in 1978, one hundred years after it opened. It has been renovated and restored to its former glory! Free tours of the building are offered the first Friday of each month. Happy Thursday!
