We are throwing back to 1945 today, and the Rhodes Furniture building in downtown Raleigh, located at 301 S. Wilmington Street. The 300 block of this street was once composed of mercantile buildings, which were adjacent to Raleigh’s Old City Market. The Rhodes Furniture building was demolished in 2012 after cracks in the building were detected in the 142 year old building. The area is undergoing re-development, bringing lots of vitality to downtown Raleigh. Happy Thursday!
