The Cooke Street Carnival is coming to town this Saturday, October 18th, in downtown Raleigh! The Carnival is an annual grassroots neighborhood festival that is held, fittingly, on Cooke Street, which is just a few blocks from the charming Historic Oakwood neighborhood. This year’s Carnival theme is “Idlewild West”, and was inspired by the Wild West and local urban culture. Each year, Cooke Street Carnival brings in local food trucks, beer vendors, bands, artists and other vendors for a day of fun and celebration. There are plenty of kid-friendly activities, including a Moon-Pie eating contest and Fatt Legg Farm, which will provide great educational demonstrations on composting, raised garden beds and growing your own food. Each year the Carnival partners with a local non-profit, and this year they are teaming up with Learning Together. Click here for more information about vendors, schedules and the Carnival’s mission!
