Raleigh is celebrating its second year as the host city of IBMA’s Wide Open Bluegrass festival this weekend! This festival draws everyone from the world’s top bluegrass singers and musicians to novices and enthusiasts and is a true celebration of the “world of bluegrass”. The stages of the Red Hat Amphitheater and the Raleigh Convention Center will host performances from the likes of Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Duncan, Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby and more. The Wide Open Bluegrass Street Festival, a free event from noon-11 PM on both Friday and Saturday, will feature four stages and more than 85 artists, a youth talent stage, the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship, a dance tent, and more! The spirit of bluegrass truly comes alive with impromptu jam sessions and artist collaborations.
